Jesus is the Truth

I like this statement by Hendrikus Berkhof, “That Christ is the truth does not mean that there are no truths to be found anywhere outside of Him, but it does mean that all such truths are fragmentary and broken unless they become integrated in Him as the center.”  Even though relativism is pervasive in our culture today, truth is still a constant because of Jesus.  Absolute truth is known because the word of God proclaims it.  Jesus is absolute truth because He is equal with God (John 14:6-7).  When we look at Jesus, we are looking at the truth.  In modern culture, we see an attack on the biblical truth of the family as God created it.  One’s sex is now whatever the individual wants it to be, even in the face of biological facts. The biggest problem with this gender confusion is that it destroys the family unit as God created it. Society begins to fall into disorder from God’s created order. For example, we have more slavery today than ever on the planet.  The sin of lust is rampant with internet porn which is causing the market for sex slaves to skyrocket.  Jim Caviezel starred in the movie Sound of Freedom, which hopefully will bring exposure to the need for mission work to rescue kids from this nightmare.  Jesus is the answer and the truth, yet He calls us to action!  We are the ones to go and save the lost from destruction.

The work of missions forms a “new humanity” in that the hearts of men are changed so that families are restored, drug addicts, sex slaves, prostitutes, and the demon-possessed are redeemed back into the Father’s house.  Nothing is more missionary than going and making more sheep, which will solve the identity issues we see in this culture of relativism (John 10:16).
